Find vacation rentals accommodation in Vancouver - Olympics

I don’t know if it is just me or the rest of the world reacts the same way but when the Olympics http://www

I don’t know if it is just me or the rest of the world reacts the same way but when the Olympics http://www.villa4vacation.com/rentals/Vancouver-Area.aspx begin, I get a feeling of confidence, I feel like I can do anything, I can take on the world.  In reality, I know I couldn’t even get one leg in those aerodynamic skin suits the skiers wear, but I listen to the stories of these accomplished athletes and think how unmotivated I have become.  Hearing how these athletes train 12 hours a day and do nothing but the sport they love, makes me feel unaccomplished when I quit my crossword puzzle after one pass on the clues.

Then I came across Julia Mancuso’s story… she is the current women's Olympic giant slalom gold medal champion and from the USA.  She trains 12-14 hours a day and when she is not training on the snow she is training in the most unlikely spot – the beach!  She spents her off season training in Hawaii http://www.villa4vacation.com/vacation-rentals/Hawaii-vacation-rentals.aspx.  She is probably the only skier that trains in Maui http://www.villa4vacation.com/rentals/Maui.aspx and uses surfing as her muse.  How great is that?  She paddles the outriggers in the ocean, she carries coral rocks underwater and medicine balls in the sand, and then she throws on a sarong, puts a plumeria in her hair & jogs along the shore.  Now when I think about that, I can certainly muster up the energy and ambition to jump on a  plane and head to Hawaii and “train”.

Some would say I do my own workout of sorts.  Lifting babies on my hips and carrying them while vacuuming is quite a challenge.  Carrying 30 lbs of laundry up and down the stairs is strenuous.  Walking with a toddler clinging to my leg has to be some type of leg lift, right? But somehow none of this keeps me motivated to push myself to the limits.  My lifestyle certainly does push myself to my wit’s end, but I don’t think that is what Olympians mean by pushing themselves to the limit!

As Julia says, “Be yourself and let your inner princess shine!”  I am going to watch her in Vancouver http://www.villa4vacation.com/rentals/Vancouver-Island.aspx this week wearing my tiari and then I will harness her motivation, fly to Hawaii http://www.villa4vacation.com/vacation-rental/Lihue/443656.aspx and reach for the stars!

Ski Fast Julia!
